Our Evangelist: Michael Hardin
Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. -- II Timothy 4:2 (NKJV)
Background
Brother Michael Hardin was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. His father is
a gospel preacher with the Valley Station Congregation in Louisville, KY. His
younger brother Steve Hardin preaches for the Plainfield Church of Christ in
Plainfield, Indiana. Michael's brother-in-law, Steve Wolfgang, is a gospel preacher
with the Danville Church of Christ in Danville, KY.
Bro. Hardin attended Florida College in Tampa, Florida. He received a degree in
religious studies from Florida College. Bro. Mike has preached the gospel of Christ
for 33 years. He has preached in the states of Kentucky, Indiana, California,
and presently in Dayton, Ohio. He has been with Kettering Church
of Christ since 1999.
Family
Bro. Michael married Janet Hardin in 1971. They have four children. Their two older
sons are married and God has blessed them with four beautiful grandchildren. They
also have two children at home: Andrea and Gregory. All of their children have brought
great joy to their life.
The Lord's Church In My Life
My only purpose in life is to do those things that are pleasing and acceptable
to God, and to help as many people as I can to see and understand their God-given
responsibility. A gospel preacher must have a strong faith in God and strive to
live faithfully to the teachings of God's will. Unless one is upright in character
and full of faith, he should not be entrusted with the preaching of the gospel.
Evangelist's Role
The evangelist should be dedicated to living the Christian
life and practice at home and in the community what he preaches. The evangelist
must have the ability to deliver the Word of God in a clear and understandable
matter. The preacher must be humble and realize where he fits into God's
plan and be content to exercise himself therein.
