“The Strongest”

Categories: In the Bulletin

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” – John. 11:25-26

One day, the stone said: "I am the strongest.” Hearing that, the iron said, "I am stronger than you. Do you want to see it?” Then, the two fought until the stone turned to dust.

The iron said in turn, "I am the strongest.” Hearing that, the fire said, "I am stronger than you. Do you want to see it?” Then the two fought until the iron melted.

The fire said in turn, "I am the strongest.” Hearing that, the water said, "I am stronger than you. Do you want to see it?” Then the two fought until the fire went out.

The water said in turn, "I am the strongest.” Hearing that, the cloud said, "I am stronger than you. Do you want to see it?” Then the two fought until the cloud saw the water evaporate.

The cloud said in turn, "I am the strongest.” Hearing that, the wind said, "I am stronger than you. Do you want to see it?” Then the two fought until the wind blew the cloud and it vanished.

The wind said in turn, "I am the strongest.” Hearing that, the mountains said, "We are stronger than you. Do you want to see it?” Then the two fought until the wind was caught between the circle of the mountains.

The mountains said, "We are the strongest.” Hearing that, the man said, "I am stronger than you. Do you want to see it?” Then the man, endowed with great intelligence, pierced the mountains, preventing them from stopping the wind.

Ending the power of the mountains, the man said, "I am the strongest creature that exists" until death came, and the man who believed himself to be intelligent and strong enough, with just one blow, was dead.

Death was still celebrating, when, without waiting, a Man came and in just three days of death, He rose again, overcoming it. All power was given Him in heaven, on earth and under the earth. Overcoming death, He gave us the right to Eternal Life, through His blood, which frees us from sin, cures diseases and saves the soul from eternal torment.

That Man is JESUS, the Son of God.

But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive – 1 Corinthians 15:20-22.
