“We Are God's People”

I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword shall not go through your land. You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand, and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. I will turn to you and make you fruitful and multiply you and will confirm my covenant with you. You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall clear out the old to make way for the new. I will make my dwelling among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves. And I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect.

Leviticus 26.6-13 - ESV

TODAY’S READING: Leviticus 26-27

Imagine being delivered from slavery. Pause for a moment and feel the shackles being released from your hands and feet. Imagine walking out the door,....free to come and go as you please. By divine intervention, God freed the Hebrew people from the inhumanities of Egyptian slavery and promised them their own land with rich blessings. These blessings were conditioned upon their trust and reliance upon God. As long as they followed His way He would be with them and give them abundance in every way. Today, it is the same for New Testament Christians. God seeks to dwell inside our heart. He intensely desires a relationship with us and will bless our lives with abundance. We, who were once bound in Satan's chains and walking under the heavy yoke of sin have been released and allowed to stand through His strength and power. Never forget from where you've come. Never let it get too far from your mind as to who delivered you and by whom you stand. Live every day for God and watch Him go to work in your life. Are you looking for God? When you look for Him, you'll find Him and be amazed at what He is doing everyday to bless you and strengthen you on your way home to heaven. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God, Revelation 21.3.
